The Parade Company and Art Van Furniture are pleased to announce a NEW contest for high school students, grades 9 – 12, encouraging them to submit their ideas for Art Van Furniture’s new float concept for the 2011 America’s Thanksgiving Parade®. Students are asked to research Art Van Furniture’s company values and mission and develop a float concept based on this messaging, creatively exemplifying how this messaging relates to The Parade and the spirit of the Art Van Furniture/Parade Company partnership.
One grand prize winner will be selected. The Grand Prize winner will receive the following:
- The opportunity for their submission to be incorporated into the final Art Van Furniture Float Design
- A $2,500 financial scholarship compliments of Art Van Furniture to be used towards furthering their education
- A $2,500 scholarship which will be awarded to their school’s Art or English Department compliments of Art Van Furniture
- Parade Company and Art Van Furniture merchandise
- A meet & greet with Art Van Elslander
- Six Preview Party tickets (Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 5 – 9pm)
Students may submit a written float concept in essay form in 250 words or less. Submissions should be typed, single-spaced with one-inch margins. Entries should include the student’s name and school on the essay.
