The Parade Company and Target
Announce 51st Annual
Target Fireworks
Wednesday, June 24, 2009
The Parade Company and Target are pleased to announce the annual Detroit summertime tradition, the Target Fireworks, will take place on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 10:06 p.m. The Target Fireworks, choreographed by Zambelli Fireworks Internationale, is one of the world’s most spectacular and largest fireworks display in the nation with more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects lighting up the international skyline over the Detroit River.
“The spectacular Target Fireworks brings people together to celebrate the spirit of summer in Detroit and reminds us all why we love our city, our community and our traditions” said Matthew P. Cullen, Chair, Michigan Thanksgiving Parade Foundation. “Due to the importance of the city hosting the National Baptist Convention, which will bring 50,000 people to downtown Detroit on Monday, June 22, we have decided to move the Target Fireworks to Wednesday, June 24.”
The Parade Company’s Official VIP Rooftop Party, atop the Miller Parking Garage, features the best seats in the city to watch the Target Fireworks with entertainment, food, games and activities for children and fun for all. This spectacular event is a major fundraiser for the Michigan Thanksgiving Parade Foundation, which governs The Parade Company, and helps make community events like the Target Fireworks and America's Thanksgiving Parade®.
