Official VIP Rooftop Party
The Parade Company offers the BEST seats in the city for the annual Target Fireworks at the Official VIP Rooftop Party located atop the Miller Parking garage just west of the Renaissance Center. This enchanted, fun-filled, fundraising party celebrates with a fantastical evening of fun for the whole family. WDIV-Local 4 broadcasts live from the event featuring the final round of the Super Singer competition. The 2007 party was sponsored by Target, General Motors and Charter One with proceeds benefiting the Michigan Thanksgiving Parade Foundation.
Rhythm & Rhymes from the Hart
Rhythm & Rhymes from the Hart takes place in Hart Plaza the afternoon of the Target Fireworks.
This literacy- and reading-focused afternoon of family friendly programming offers activities and entertainment for all ages. Rhythm & Rhymes from the Hart was created to provide a safe and welcoming family environment for our Fireworks spectators.
Target Fireworks
The fantastical fireworks is an international favorite family tradition celebrating the American-Canadian friendship and provides an exciting finale for the new in 2007 week-long Detroit International River Days. More than one million spectators from both sides of the Detroit River will gather for the fabulous presentation of exploding light and color set to summertime music. The fireworks can be seen for miles, so there are plenty of great places to watch! Zambelli Fireworks International, America's oldest and largest fireworks company, choreographs the 30-minute fireworks display.
WDIV Local 4 broadcasts the fireworks live and News/Talk 760 WJR AM simulcasts the choreographed summertime music.
Detroit International River Days
New in 2007 was the First Annual Detroit International River Days! This event unveiled the new Rivard Plaza and Pavilion along the GM Plaza and Promenade and beyond on June 22, 2007. Detroit River Days is free to the public and features family-freindly entertainment and live music. The 2007 Detroit International River Days culminated on Wednesday, June 27 with the 49th Annual Target Fireworks.
