America’s Thanksgiving Parade® is one of the country’s largest and most spectacular Parades in the United States! Every November something magical happens on Detroit’s historical Woodward Avenue, a holiday tradition that dates back to 1924. Since then, 85 celebrations of sparkles and magic have captured the imaginations of millions of children and their families.
Every year, hundreds of thousands of Parade spectators line historic Woodward Avenue Thanksgiving morning to watch the larger than life floats, colorful helium filled balloons, thunderous marching bands and exciting specialty acts! The Parade is broadcast live locally on WDIV-TV, Channel 4 and syndicated national reach of over 70 million households!

Marching Band
The Parade Company is seeking high school and collegiate marching bands to participate in the 2013 America’s Thanksgiving Parade®! The Parade Selection Committee selects units based on their performance and quality of music as well as the band’s overall presentation.
The deadline for submissions for Marching Bands is June 16, 2013.
Dance Team
We are currently seeking talented and entertaining dance teams to participate in the 2013 America’s Thanksgiving Parade®! The Parade Selection Committee selects units based on their use of costumes, music, performance, entertainment value and teamwork with The Parade Company. Dance teams may be assigned to accompany a sponsored float and will work The Parade Company on appropriate costumes & music. The Parade Company has the right to limit the number of dancers assigned to each unit.
The deadline for submissions for Dance Teams is August 26, 2013.
Specialty Unit
The Parade Company is seeking unique and entertaining performance acts to participate in the 2013 America’s Thanksgiving Parade®! The Parade Selection Committee selects units based on their use of costumes, music, performance and entertainment value.
The deadline for submissions for Specialty Units is August 26, 2013.
Equestrian Unit
The Parade Company is seeking equestrian units to participate in the 2013 America’s Thanksgiving Parade®! The Parade Selection Committee selects units based on their use of costumes, performance and entertainment value.
The deadline for submissions for Equestrian Units is August 27, 2013.
